The “Shadow” from a Halloween Dragonfly
No Tricks Here – This is a Genuine Treat
A Halloween Pennant (Celithemis eponina) and its “shadow” on the beach at Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key, Florida, on Feb. 14, 2017. Not until I saw this did I imagine that the wings of a dragonfly, with the sun just right, might project like celluloid.
So, in real life, this was no digital dragonfly. It was like an old motion picture.
Happy Halloween, everyone!

that is a sensational photo
You have such an artist’s eye! I don’t believe I’ve ever even seen color in a “shadow” before.
Great photo!
I thought this was a Bryan Photoshop special until I checked Google. Sorry to doubt you, but you do have a reputation. This is one cool beast. Thanks for the treat on this tricky day.
Love this. Happy Halloween and eternal good health to you.
