Happy Valentine’s Day from a pair of Pacific Fritillaries (Boloria epithore) caught in the act of making more Pacific Fritillaries on Marys Peak in western Oregon on July 24, 2012.

    Beautiful photo! -31 here in Lake Placid this morning; 48-state low was -37 in Watertown, NY. Brrr.

    Actually, they had just flown in tandem to that perch, which is part of the explanation.
