Three more images of the moon setting yesterday morning here beside the Gila River in southwestern New Mexico: I shot the first one before the rising sun hit the trees. In the next two, at a different location, the sun illuminates the cottonwoods and sycamore (still holding its rusty leaves). That third shot includes a Mallard. Here’s the full moon setting the day before, on January 4, with just enough light on the trees.

Thanks, Julia. If only I can get a eagle on the payroll with the moon! 🙂
