Find me on Substack »

Onward from Saskatchewan (“Land of Living Skies”) to Montana (“Big Sky”). Forgive me for not yet updating the “Oh, Canada” post. Ruth and I are down from eight days of backpacking in the Gallatin Range south of Bozeman. She’s flown home to  Vermont. I’m out West for a couple more weeks.

Thanks so much for sharing your comments and photos. Very inspiring. Might be as close as I’ll ever get to the Tetons.
In lieu of replying go out and photograph a butterfly for me. Cheers, Martha Pfeiffer

Yeah, Ryan. I’m onward to those (Laramide) Tetons — old rocks and young mountains!

Tree-hugging dirty-worshipers you are. Those Rockies are majestic, them young pups. Looking forward to traipsing about the woods of our Acadian-era mountains with you sometime when you return!

Thank, John. Everything goes well with DEET! I’m thinking DEET and tonic, ham and DEET, maybe PB and DEET.
