Scarlet Tanager

Scarlet Tanager / © Bryan Pfeiffer

An Osprey smacks the water and emerges with a bass struggling in its talons. Common Loons linger at a nest nearby. And warblers turn the trees into sparkling palettes. Another May morning at Berlin Pond. This year we’ll visit during the peak of spring migration. Over the course of nearly three decades of birding at the pond, I’ve seen more than 150 species. We’ve even seen Bald Eagle and moose on this outing, as well as central Vermont rarities such as Laughing Gull, Black Tern, Purple Martin, Blue-winged Warbler and Orchard Oriole. This outing is great for birders of all abilities. You’ll be busy. To register, send me an email.

Dates: May 18 and 19
